This month, we have started clearing space behind the Harris Health Hub to install an 11m Polycrub. This is the start of a wider project to get Tarbert growing again. A rigid plastic Polycrub has been ordered for installation in the Autumn. In the mean time we need to prepare the ground for the crub and some plots for individuals to work. The bramble bushes have been cleared and the knotweed treated. Access is being cleared through the undergrowth from the new gate on the main road.
The site is being leased to the Trust by its owners Scottish and Southern Energy. They are keen to see the site put to good community use – whilst ensuring their overhead lines are safe from any activity underneath. The site is also conveniently located across from the school, so we hope to be helping pupils with their tatties once again next year.
